In 2018, during a difficult season of stress, trauma, and early recovery from Opioid Use Disorder, I found myself in desperate need of a way to stay grounded — something to help me pause, breathe, and pray through the hard moments.

Medications weren’t an option in my recovery journey, so I leaned into my faith and sought out simple, natural ways to stay centered. I believed that God would equip me with what I needed — and He did.

One day, I created a bracelet using soft pink and neutral stones, spacing out 5 beads as a visual and physical reminder of the 5 Second Rule: count backward from 5… breathe… and choose a better response. But more than that, each bead became a reminder to pause and lean into prayer — to trust that God was with me in the pause, in the process, and in the healing.

That simple bracelet — now called the Original 5 Second Rule Bracelet — became a lifeline. And today, at 5 Second Rule Bracelet, we carry that same spirit: creating tools that help you reconnect with God, ground yourself in truth, and remember the strength and hope that He has placed within you.
